DevSwitch — Privacy Policy

DevSwitch ("the extension") is a browser extension that lets you save and restore login sessions per website and switch between environments (dev, staging, production). This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles and where it goes. The short version: your session data never leaves your device.

What the extension stores, and where

When you save a session profile, DevSwitch stores the following locally on your device using the browser's chrome.storage.local area:

• Authentication information — the cookies, and the localStorage / sessionStorage values, of the site you choose to save. These make up your login session.
• Website content — only the storage values described above, for the specific sites you save.
• Your settings — the names you give your profiles and your environment groups.

This information is stored only on your own computer. It is never transmitted to the developer, and never sent to any server or third party. It remains until you delete a profile, use "Erase all data" in the options page, or uninstall the extension.

Optional Pro upgrade (payments)

If you choose to upgrade to the Pro version, payments are handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. When you pay, you provide your email address and payment details directly to these processors. The developer receives only your email address and your paid / unpaid status, in order to unlock Pro features. The developer never receives your card details or any of your saved session data. Please refer to the ExtensionPay and Stripe privacy policies for how they handle payment data.

What the extension does NOT do

• No analytics or tracking of your browsing.
• No advertising.
• No selling or sharing of personal data.
• No transmission of your cookies, tokens or storage to any server.

Why each permission is requested

• cookies — to read and restore the cookies that make up a login session.
• storage — to save your session profiles and settings locally.
• scripting — to read and restore the localStorage / sessionStorage of the active tab.
• tabs — to read the active tab's address and reload or navigate it when you switch session or environment.
• Host access — sessions can be saved on any website you choose, so the extension needs access to the sites you use it on.

Deleting your data

You can delete any saved session from the popup or the options page, remove everything at once with "Erase all data" in the options page, or uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data.
